Technology:

East Rice Company is equipped with column type paddy dryers, we are one of the first rice mill to introduce this technology in Faizabad grain market area. These enable us to produce an uninterrupted flow of high quality dried paddy, the design of this piece of equipment allows time saving and obtaining higher yields and better cooking quality.

The conventional natural-sun-drying-method is also used for dying rice paddy by spreading it over large fields under sunlight allowing to gradually loose its moisture.

East Rice Company is equipped with husking units for the production of brown rice and finally white rice, where rice paddy is cleaned by using  separator classifier and de-stoner graded and thereafter cleaned paddy is husked in pneumatically controlled rubber roll huskers, where husk is separated in husk separators. Brown rice and un-husked paddy is separated using paddy separator tables and un-husked paddy is sent back to huskers, whereas brown rice is graded using thickness graders to separate ‘green’ immature rice grains as well as over-size grains.

The semi-milled white rice thus obtained is further processed in  separate rice re- processing plants, where the incoming product is once again cleaned, de-stoned and thereafter is passed through a series of vertical polishers ( abrasive type) to remove the bran layer by generating minimum quantity of broken rice grains. The by-product bran obtained is carefully transported to the collection yard for sale in bulk. Further whitened rice passes through a series of friction polishers for removal of any adhering bran powder as well as to impart a ‘gloss’ with water or simply utilizing the friction of the cam rolls and screens of the polisher and also the friction generated by gentle rubbing of rice grains with one another.

Rice thereafter is segregated into different fractions using a rotary sifter and then passed through length graders before going to color sorter. If required colored sorted rice is once again passed through length graders, before packing / bagging.  Both plants are equipped with proper aspiration system consisting of aspiration ducting, cyclones and air locks ensuring that all plant and machinery remains free of dust and other light particles.

The above mentioned process is depicted in the ‘Block Diagram of Rice Processing’ shown hereunder:

East Rice Company owns well ventilated huge storage godowns / warehouses for rice suitable for fumigation as and when required.
